Where’s Austcom?

Austcom (The Bega Valley Network Inc) was deregistered in July 2014.

Because I (Jackie) was running it single-handed as if it were my own business and there was no point maintaining its non-profit status. Once there was a thriving committee and programming team who built a fantastic community network when such things had barely been dreamt of. But the team burnt out, while the technology aged and was superceded by other providers.

The good news is that the new Bega Valley and Eurobodalla Network on Webhive is here to take its place. Yay! It’s built on WordPress and Buddypress, and will develop as people tell me what they want and need.

Webhive now runs all Austcom websites, including:

  • thebegavalley.org.au
  • eurobodalla.org.au
  • sydneycommunities.org.au
  • nswcommunities.org.au
  • melbournecommunities.org.au

These websites will be retired by 31 December 2015, as soon as all active websites have been transferred to Webhive or other systems.

The following websites have already been retired:

  • austcom.org.au
  • tascommunities.org.au
  • actcommunities.org.au
  • wacommunities.org.au
  • qldcommunities.org.au
  • topend.org.au
