How to Reset Your WordPress Password

To reset your WordPress password, go to your website’s login page. My website’s webhive.com.au so I type webhive.com.au/login into my browser’s address bar:

Click the ‘Lost your password?’ link below the login form:

How to change your WordPress password - Here is your WordPress passwordBut you might not like that password! If so, delete it and type in the password you want (1). Make sure it’s at least 8 characters and contains numbers, capitals and punctuation. It makes it harder to crack. You’ll know when you’ve got a good password because ‘Strong’ will appear on a green background below it.

For security reasons Webhive will only allow you to set strong passwords. There is an error message but it’s sometimes hard to see. So if your password reset fails, this may be why. Just go back and try setting a strong password.

Now click ‘Reset password’ (2):

If you can’t remember the username or email address for your website, ask your web designer. If your web designer has access to your website or hosting account, they can to reset your password for you.
